8 months? It took me damn near 2 years for a down payment loan. When we sectioned off a 6 acre parcel to build a house that was almost 4 month. Cost me half a point interest on the house. I'm lucky that the sellers on the land were patient and worked on the original appraisal or I would have been screwed.
