Rupp's sweet corn guide calls for 12 inch spacing in 30 inch rows, and I have found that to be about right for sh2 varieties. Get out the hoe once it is eight inches or so high. I had to thin a litle last year that I planted too thick. About eight inches high was a good time to do it; big enough to see which plants were good to keep without being hard to chop out.
