Ne Nebraska | Beings futures contracts don’t go out to fall/winter of 2026 yet, does any one have a strategy or idea for hedging next years calf crop? Already have 2025 production covered with a combination of lrp, put spreads and strait futures hedges up to almost 100% covered. Is there too much risk in hedging in far out months, and just rolling as the next contracts come available? Or will spreads eat a guy up doing this as you roll? Any ideas? Thanks! | |
