SW Ohio | If it ever stops raining, I'll be burning down a cover crop of 1 bushel winter wheat that was spread last November. Its on corn stalks and got a really good stand. Such a good stand that I intend to no-till beans into it because full tillage will likely be a nightmare to get straightened up enough to plant. Farm also lays pretty wet, so another vote for no-till. I have not used covers in the past. Should I consider adding an insecticide to my burndown pass to control anything that may be hiding in the wheat? I usually use delta gold on my corn acres, have some on hand, would that be a good route? Not sure what bugs I may be up against in the cover | |
