As someone who actually works WITH the FSA and just doesn't do crop reporting and bitch and moan this is the stupidest thing ever. Take an already slow process at the FSA and make it 10x worse. My first land loan was for 190k on 100 acres and took 8 months to close. Luckily I had signed the purchase agreement and it had that much time. There is already plenty of oversight with these loans anyway. But hey its in the grand plan to eliminate the FSA and there loans and give it to private companys... Because that totally wont end up a disaster... Everyone wants to bitch and moan about no young farmers and this is one of the only few remaining tools for young farmers to get into the business but lets eliminate it or make it so cumbersome that it isn't feasible to use... "At least my young beginning farmer neighbor doesnt have a leg up on me with a FSA loan with cheaper interest"

Agree turning it over to private industry or a NGO seems like a way to into more fraud in the future where the entities processing the loans benefit financially from approvals no matter the outcome or circumstances.

I maybe off comparing such a scenario to “feeding our future” fraud here in MN but I don’t think it’s far off from possible.
