A friend of mine had a wipeout the same way. Grass on the road, in a curve, 11pm in the dark. Lots of road rash, bent forks, lots of scratches in the chrome and paint. It's illegal here. He took the landowner to court and got all the repairs on his bike covered and $10,000 for pain and suffering.
