I live in town and folks do this. Then, it washes to the storm drain after a heavy rain and clogs it up, making a flooded pond on the street. I am like OP, always do at least 2-3 passes blowing the grass inward before changing direction. On a gravel drive, those clippings will pile up and slowly cause overgrowth and bury the gravel after some years.
Do folks think this makes a place look good
