FSA is useless to the young farmer. As you described 8 months for a land note is almost unworkable. Have seen where the dad buys the land to sell it to the son as a way to get the loan done.

Tried to use them for buying cattle when I first started out, ended up paying more interest at the bank. Not flexible enough for my operation.

Get rid of the crop insurance subsidies and prevent plant. subsidies the young farmers crop insurance for the first 10 years. Starting at 100% first year, 90% second, 80% third…..



I think a lot of acres would be switched over into the young son or daughters name.
