Subject: RE: Is DEET effective to help prevent Lone Star ticks?

coast of Maine
Tick season here is nearly 9 months long.Got an very attached deer tick March 5th this year, when there was a foot of snow on the ground still.I have seen them in early December as well.I assume in milder areas of the USA they are year around.Babesiosis is one of the more odd tick issues,It is not a virus but a parasite that lives in your blood stream just like malaria.I recovered from this parasite and Lyme(hopefully) last year but some here have been killed. My friend "joe" has finally licked the Babesiosis after 18 months of very severe treatments,,cancer therapy drugs/low dose arsenic etc.,,I took a months worth of anti malaria drugs, licked it I hope. The Lyme is an unknown, especially with a new bite in March.Ticks kill people here .
