SC WI | The department I was on, has a slightly bigger coverage area. The secondary pumper was older than your only pumper. It was in good functional condition. It went on all structure fire calls. Our local department is a little different, they do several fundraisers a year and proceeds go to new trucks allowing the townships and villages to contribute less.
Another small department gets used trucks out of big cities, I think they had a unit that responded on 9/11, as their primary pumper for a while.
I would suggest used, nothing depreciates like a used fire truck, Wisconsin surplus has trucks on there and there are other municipalities that sell fire trucks. | |
