Whitewater, WI | Not in the area you're looking for but I had to at least mention it. This is a hunting reserve in Phelps, WI that my wife and I stayed at a few years ago for the same reasons you listed, bathroom, etc. The entrance was in WI but the cabin was actually in the UP. Saw several elk while walking the paths. Short drive to the MI state park with the waterfalls. Had a private pond with a boat but do your research on which cabin if you're looking to fish. Some of their ponds are shallow and don't have fish. Almost zero cell service and no TV reception, but they did have a tv with a dvd player if you wanted. We also drove to eagle river and rented utvs. We booked outside their hunting season and it was very reasonable and I think we were the only ones there.
