| Update; things look a lot better now this morning than they did last night. The moisture came up some and found it's a smaller area than I had thought that got worked too deep. I decided to keep going and work it today, can't dry it out any more than I already did and it's making a nice seedbed albeit dry.
Soil worked up very nice, yes I have lumps but not those cold wet fist size lumps that bake into cement that you can't do anything with. My soils dry out on top and form a crust of sorts, and it takes a second tillage pass in the spring to grind them up. Had I brought up those nasty clay lumps I would be dragging the harrowgator and roller across to break them up before they bake but the lumps from the top crust break up nice with just a FC pass. | |
