 Northeast Tennessee | We need some beef, the young bull needs a companion animal that doesn't come in heat, so it all works out pretty well in the end. I live far from the Midwest and cheap corn, don't normally fatten cattle in my cow/calf operation. Just looked at my last bulk 14% commodity grade feed ticket for my replacement heifers, $320 per ton. That is the lowest cost feed available that is suitable for the replacements, not even going to post what grain based feed costs me by the sack, $$$$. | |
