IA | Personally I think the only reason any heifer retention is happening is because the cull market is so high. Any oddball or problem cow has wheels put under her and guys probably need a few to fill pastures. With cull price there's no better time then now to get rid of the problems and old cows. So even if retention is happening, which I think it's starting to, I don't think herd numbers are actually going to increase. | |
