Bethune, SK | At Lakeland College we did some bale grazing with the college cows at the student farm. The idea behind bale grazing on a stubble field is to improve soil health and organic matter. I found it awfully strange that all of the old hay residue and manure got pushed into a pile and hauled off to another field during easter weekend . They claimed the pro-till would not be able to pull through it, which is a crock of balogna. Thats the future of farming I guess!! Bright minds. Might as well of fed animals in the corral
