NW Iowa
NH3 only kills a small zone for a limited time.
Been applying here for 30 yrs in the fall.
By the time spring rolls around all the effects are gone.
I've put 220 lbs down in the spring on a piece of COC
and planted 48 hrs later, had perfect crop.
This is NW IA soils with 25-30 CEC.
As far as runways they never used NH3, it's an old wives tale
to sell urea and other products.
They used cat dozers and steel mats. Plain dirt on lighter aircraft.
The U.S. Army produced AA, but it was used to produced munitions. The equipment list for engineering units DOES NOT include pressure vessels nor does the list of all Liberty or Victory ships name any that would carry AA.
