Subject: RE: Homemade mustard

Pittsburg, Kansas

I used to never care that much for mustard back when I ate a standard diet. I didn't hate it and would eat it if it was on a hamburger or hot dog. But would never put it on myself by choice. We went low carb six years ago and that cut out ketchup because of the sugar content and even no sugar ketchup still has quite a bit of natural sugar from the concentrated tomatoes.

Two things happened when we did that. One was I needed some different condiments than I had been used to. Two was over time my taste buds actually changed and started craving savory tastes and fat textures instead of the sugar I had been used to. Mustard was one of those changes that now I really enjoy. My wife prefers the Dijon. I personally like the plain yellow cheap stuff from Aldi's just as well if not better.
