western iowa | Several years ago ISU did a nh3 study. After application there was a temporary sterilization effect in the band. However, after a while there was an explosion of life in the band and eventually a lot more microbiology present in the old band than in untreated soil.
Also where they made runways they used a ****load until it was hard as a rock. We don't see that where we use 1/10th of a ton per acre, every other year. I guarantee a no-till plus nh3 system will grow a lot more earthworms than a full tillage system. | |
