Pittsburg, Kansas | On the ivermectin most of the studies quoted that say it doesn't work they gave it too late to be of much use. In covid the first five to seven days the virus is going to replicate and do all it is going to do. That is when the ivermectin has a chance to do its most good. During viral replication, basically keeping it from happening or at least happening to a much lesser degree. If you look at those studies nearly all are giving the ivermectin after the patient was already very sick and hospitalized with severe symptoms. This is the stage of the disease where the virus has already done its thing and the problem becomes the body's over reaction to the infection and the so called Cytokine storm. For ivermectin to do its best it must be administered at first symptoms or better yet at time of known exposure. That is why we take some after the multiple planes and multiple airport exposures if it is flu season. At the later cytokine storm stage it only acts as an anti inflammatory so is much less effective and is not really defeating the virus or even treating the virus but only treating the resulting symptoms. To treat the disease itself it has to be administered early in the infection stage.
Ivermectin works in two ways, but that first way is the most important in preventing hospitalization and being deathly sick. The second way is it is anti inflammatory and cuts down on inflammation when sick, but this is a rather minor role and there are probable multiple medications (steroids for example) that are better at that stage of the game especially if already hospitalized.
Of course I am not a doctor so it is impossible for me to know anything about it and I am incapable of learning so disregard all of the above. It is probably bad information.
