se montana | While I’ve been paying the tax man and sitting on most of it the past few years, I’ve got a long, drawn out new house building project that I’m gonna have to get prodded and finished one of these years…so keep writing checks for that I guess,
Seriously, the market still hasn’t caught up to my cost increases on hydraulic hoses, hdpe water pipe, steel, tractors and balers, vehicles, electric bill, propane, real estate tax hikes, etc. Anything related to this house project is 2 to 3x what it cost 10 years ago.
To be clear, I am very thankful for current prices, but just go talk to anyone you know that makes a living NOT farming and ranching-what we think is a financial windfall is a normal year for the rest of the working class. Puts it in perspective.
