I’ve been trying to get guys to try grid sampling and get their p and k levels up in pastures. Grazed only ground should recycle the majority of those nutrients, now is the time to get them up and then when times are rough should only have to buy nitrogen and the occasional liming.

I never intentionally buy Nitrogen, (some times comes along with the DAP on fields that need phosphorus, or in the turkey manure when they were not so proud of it ) keep a strong percentage of legumes, feed those K and let them supply the N for the grass. I am going to add 2 more Jug waterers, furthest will be about 1200 feet from the buildings, could make do without them, but will be 60 in June and intend to do this for a good many more years, unless the kids want in sooner which will be at least a few years off, will make life easier till then or till I quit. Also removed the old house last year and made have a bulldozer in and adding a gravel circle drive so we can turn semis around instead of backing in off the road, not really because of high prices more because it finally came to the top of the list.
