Because it is better than the alternative and getting a different group of problems from another brand.
I've driven Chevy's all my life, but no way I'd buy a new one now. You've got the transmission problems from their thread and the engine problems they've been having, if they can't make something that will last the warranty I wouldn't buy it.
A friend of mine is in the same boat as the person in this thread.
One year old Chevy stuck in the shop, he told his salesman let's just trade, the Chevy salesman wouldn't sell him a new Chevy, he sold him an 8000 mile Dodge instead.
