| I don’t particularly care about the race or gender topics very much it just seems to be what we wondered into after I said conservatives view the arts as “gay.”
I wasn’t saying the cabinet is full of too many straight white guys, I don’t care if they’re all that. The idea that these folks are the most qualified guys we could find for these rolls is quite a stretch.
Again the idea of dei is basically equal opportunity. I agree it has been bastardized in some areas. I agree with everyone getting a fair shot, I don’t agree with requiring 25% be black or something like that. Equity of opportunity but not equity of outcomes is a good way to put it.
I think you’re wrong about dei as being numbers on a page, they’re viewing it as the people that are getting an equal opportunity they might not have had otherwise. I don’t know how often it’s the case that there’s a crew of people flying an aircraft that are barely able to do so while all the top gun pilots were sent home for being white. | |
