If you can find a used truck it might be easier to buy it. Use it until her truck is fixed then sell it. I know its a pain to sell things when your done but it is an option.

Anything decent gonna be 30 grand or more. Can’t drive it without license, which requires paying the sales tax. Can’t jump title.
