Bottom of the Mitten | I give them an hour after I see the hooves. After that it's time to get it out
Edit: It's very helpful to pull while the momma is still pushing and time the pull with a push. I've had them give up before, I assume from waiting too long and being exhausted. Pulling calves isn't fun but it's much less fun when she stops pushing and you're doing all the work
