Sanilac Co. Michigan
My first brand new (really brand new anything) drill, was just like what Josh has. It was a great drill! I sowed pretty much everything with it, even corn for some neighbors food plots.

The trick, if there is one to get good spacing, is to set it so the rate you desire is in the mid range of the adjustment lever. So, it's graduated from 1-100, pick a gear that puts it near 50. The other thing is ground speed. Slower is better then as fast as you can pull it. Sweet spot seemed like 6mph. Regardless, consistent speed is necessary.

Controlled spill? I suppose, but so what? You're not building a piano, you're sowing beans on 7.5 to 15" rows, they don't just grow up, they grow out. There things to be anal about, this isn't one of them.
