GPA is more dependent on what products you are using. In this case glyphosate is a systemic killer. Many moons ago when it was new on the scene the Monsanto reps had some guys spraying 8 gpa. They said that one concentrated drop is more effective at getting through the cuticle and into the roots then several less concentrated drops. This was when roundup was being sprayed as a stand along program. At some you have to spray a volume you believe that has adequate coverage to land on every weed. But glyphosate does not need to land on every part of weed to kill vs. a contact killer such as flex star. When it comes to residuals you could argue a higher rate gives you better ground coverage and thus better control. For reference I spray a lot of my corn programs at 12 GPA

Spot on!
