Subject: RE: JD 1590 Drill planting milo

Faunsdale, AL
Planted some Pearl millet with a 1560. Trying for those low rates and it’s hard to keep it planting. The slow down kit would have been a big help.

And when it runs low, there’s still a LOT of seed between the cups. I don’t know if anyone offers the snap in plastic inserts that funnel all the seed into the cups for 15” rows, but they would be a help if they’re available.

Going to 15” helps but at those low rates, it’s still a very narrow gate opening. So half speed kit plus 15” rows will be best.

Do you have a 7.5” spacing drill with the front rank hold up valve installed? 15” spacing uses the rear rank planting and the front rank locked up. I’ve got about 1000 pounds of weights on the rack on the back just to make sure for planting beans.
