King City, Mo | We lost one from a sale barn last week and picked up a twin that has trouble eating and is partially blind. He is a struggle to work with and takes 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 attention to get fed 2x a day.
We picked up a little heifer yesterday to put us at 9 calves.
My youngest and middle son both has to oogle over the new girl. Middle one made sure he was first to get bottles and fed her and her neighbor 1st. The youngest had to climb in her pin and move some hay around.
The boys been doing good about choring the calves 2x a day. Washing the bottles seems to be the job nobody wants to do. We even put a stool at the sink innthe barn so you can sit.
Its been more of a struggle getting going by sourcing beef calves vrs dairy cross but we are off and rolling for this year!
