It doesn’t sound exactly like what I’ve experienced, but first thing I do on all those tractors is unplug the temperature sending unit that is in the thermostat/coolant manifold. When these short out, it kills power to the injection pump and sometimes blows a fuse. Usually tractor just won’t start, but I’ve never worked on an early model.
