| First off, those engines were built in 2 different plants at that time.....one in China(bad o-rings), and one in France(good o-rings).
As far as combines go, the CaseIH 71 & 7230s had those engines, and they had the bad engines just like the tractors. Know of several 7230s that had engines replaced around here. Now, I've got some New Holland conventional combines around here, they were built in Belgium, and their engines came from the French plant.
The stuff built in Benson, Minnesota (sprayers & floaters) seems to be where engines from both plants could be used. I've seen French engines in early 4430 sprayers and Chinese engines in later 4430s/4440s....the floaters around me all have French engines. Go figure..... | |
