Subject: Tractors on 120" centers

SW Ohio
I've always been the type to not worry so much about crops getting run over. Everything here is on 30" rows, all tractors have 18.4 width tires and duals on the back, typical midwest setup. However I'm now going to have to spray my wheat going forward and I'm a bit more concerned because the tire track wheat always has green heads on it still when the rest is 13%. I spray with a JD 7710 MFWD and spray king 1290 with 90' boom. I know I can stretch the tractor out to 90" according to the book, but I'm not sure how much that will mess with my head trying to count rows and what not. I like to follow the planter markers when I can (yes we still use them even with guidance). Sprayer axle is also fixed at 120". Those that have gotten a tractor to 120", what does it take to make it happen? Are you happy with the results? Would you do it again? Do you notice any abnormal final drive wear or other problems?
