| I've wrestled with the same issue before on an older planter monitor — those Jones-type 10-pin connectors can definitely be tricky once the solder joints start to go bad. From what I remember, yes, the wire colors and positions absolutely matter for the sensors to read correctly. If you can find even a partial schematic for your specific Dickey John model, it’s worth tracking down before guessing. Sometimes the manuals for the JD 7000s have enough detail too.
