But the compost has organic matter and that fixes lots of sins. A soil test would help but a bit of fertilizer isn't likely going to kill it. One of the fastest ways to take fertility out of soil is to cut hay off it, pasture a bit different cause it doesn't all leave the field but still, a lot does. A hundred pounds of 16-16-16 or something similar isn't likely going to go to waste, but that would be dry fertilizer here.
