Just outside downtown Prairie Hill | Soil test would be a good first step. You said you have a good bit of compost available. I would favor compost over fertilizer assuming it is good compost. Have you had it sampled? I would be interested in how many bacteria, fungi, and other little critters it might have in it. Not all labs can get you an accurate count. This pasture has had the life beat out of it. Good compost would help the soil regain it's biological life. I am starting to think good biology is more valuable than NPK because it will release what you already have. Good luck on your project. |
