Not sure what type of grass you have down there.  If that was grass here, I would do everything possible to let it rest.  Depending on the type of grass, you can use Duracor and Plateau to help control cheat in native grass "here" with a fall application.  I have had good luck with our Corteva pasture and range representative helping with different options for weed control in pastures.
