| They are reliable little engines that shouldn’t have any problems keeping cool. Those engine are really oil/air cooled, meaning the majority of the cooling is done by the oil and oil cooler. There are air passages in the head but neither the block or head have cooling fins on them like larger Deutz engines.
Make sure the oil cooler is completely clean and not plugged, check the fan for a good tight belt and that the blades aren’t worn. If all of those are good you probably need to change the oil thermostat.

Those engines also have a timing belt that should be changed every ~1000 hours. If the belt fails the pistons will hit the valves. The good news is the push rods are designed to be the weak link and should bend instead of the valves.
