If what you're wanting to do is see and be in London and stop where you want to stop, the Hop-On-Hop-Off buses are wonderful. You can ride as long or as little as you wish, you have a guide talking to you thru an earpiece so you know what you're seeing, once you buy your daily ticket for a specific route you can get on and off as many times as you wish for as long as you wish.
How do you rent a car in London to drive around and see the sights?
