Yes, Illinois is a long state and the variation in conditions from one end to the other is usually quite large. We just recently got back into the normal category on the drought monitor. While there is ample moisture for spring planting I don't think we have much in the tank for subsoil moisture. That can change in a hurry though. The old saying of it takes a lot longer to get too dry than it does to get too wet comes to mind.
