Great, we can fill x% of the market for bearings domestically.

AND we are building chip factories.. but can we roll out enough to quit China cold turkey.. ??  Before they take out Tiawan?

Nevermind everything else.

Trump trys to Bluff but Xi calls him on it.. then what?

China has survived over 3,000 years.. they are Really Good.. at playing "the Long Game."

China does not build stuff with the good chips, or even the mid quality, just the cheap ones. Replacing that manufacturing isn’t hard, nor does it require higher prices, maybe $5/phone less margin. Former government employees and a host of liberals will need something to do that is in their capability.

Oh lord, you’ve been fed the good stuff.

“ So why is Apple still there? According to Cook, it’s all about the skills. He said China has a massive number of highly skilled workers in one place — and that’s rare. “The products we make require advanced tools and high precision,” he explained, adding that the level of tooling expertise in China is “very deep.” He even compared it to the US, saying if Apple tried to hold a meeting with American tooling engineers, the room might not even be full. In China, though, “you could fill multiple football fields.”
