Subject: RE: Tillage vs No Tillage %

Central Indiana
Corn less than 5% full on tillage, 70% minimum tillage either vt or single field cultivator pass, and 25% no till. Beans 65% no till 35% vt. Though we're seeing a slowing down of guys using vt. My neighbor who I help uses a vt tool. If I help plant his corn I hate the constant worked dirt vs not worked every 4". Even with hyd down force it's impossible to keep constant seed depth. Plus I hear guys say things like I'm going to take my vt tool out and it will help the ground dry out....... Maybe, but causes severe compaction issues. If it's to wet, it's to wet. BTO use this idea, and they always have streaked corn
