Countertop is just 3/4" melomine board for now, haven't decided on what exactly to do to get by for a couple years until the budget allows the real one. Lights are all done, for anyone considering under-cabinet lighting, you won't regret it. I have the under-cabinet, window, and island lights all on dimmers. The room lights are on a three-way switch, not sure I want to put a dimmer on those, or if you even can. Here are four sequential pics of under, window, island, and room. I decided to go with 5 lights in an L-shape.
