These give a lot of joules for the money and people seem to like them. I will say I have not used them personally. I use a 18 joule Gallagher MBS1800i since it is carried locally and can use remote shut off to save time fixing shorts and climbing over wire without getting shocked. It can run off 110 as well as solar. They are now unfortunately over $1200. I have been a lot happier with mine since buying oversized ones with higher joules going from 4 joules to 18 was really nice. A speedrite 6000 will have halve the output at 6 joules as the one in the link is 12. Joules are what powers fences over long distances, through weeds and poor insulators while also helping transfer shock to cattle in dry conditions soil conditions and that have heavy hair coats.
What I think it is important to realize is that many fencers will go up to 10kv and in theory deliver the same shock under ideal conditions but the joules are what really makes the difference in making sure the power gets delivered. Maybe you know all this but I didn't when I first bought a fencer and figure many don't.... | |
