North of London | Read this a few days ago and today came across papers from my wife's funeral last year so thought I would add to your post
Now you have to understand her wishes differed from your and next posts costs
She requested cremation and ashes spread.
Cost to funeral home for all services they provided was $2,606 (Canadian $) included cremation costs and the paper work they have to do
We had a celebration of life in July when weather was expected to be better in our back yard with food for those who joined us purchased from a caterer and honorarium to a man who pulled the service together
Total for all this was around $800
this included costs for just our family's food in evening when we spread her ashes on our own land where we liked to walk, picnic and camp.
To add in case my description did not explain we had no visitation just the celebration of life 4 months after her death.
And I just attended a celebration for a cousin's wife who had died 6 weeks earlier.
The only service they had for the public and she was cremated as well ashes to be spread by family later.
