It depends on the equipment too. Some stuff really get to hopping going down the road, and any air in the seat amplifies the up and down motion. And I'd much rather have my feet on the ground than dangling in the air, and some equipment you have to have the seat all the way down to reach. Maybe I'm just too short :)
