UP / Thumb of Michigan
My neighbor in the UP of Michigan was one of the first to be diagnosed as having a Lonestar tick bite in Michigan. He has a ton of trouble with anything other than fish meat wise. He thinks he's getting better as far as the after effects go (he was diagnosed 5 or 6 years ago) , but then he'll try to eat some meat and it comes right back.

My sister-in-law one of the researchers at Michigan Tech doing a study on ticks, and their various issues each kind may give someone. Kind of spooky. We never saw ticks that I remember in the Thumb of Michigan the entire 66 years I lived there, but here in tyhe UP they're very common. Many different types, luckily, I've never dug a Lonestar Tick off me at the end of the day.
