| Was getting target marketing to watch McBee Farms reality tv. The snippets of the show seem really trashy and inconsistent with successfully running farm. Comes off like "Look at me. I have an MBA, work out, have a fancy oversized computer monitor in my office/shop oh and by the way, I have time to drink and go on waste of time trips with my family." It's a total contradiction to the stoic, practical, frugal, disciplined, common sense, calm, stern, and no time for a vacation successful farmers- farmers who don't cheat on crop on insurance.
I saw some of Gold Rush and Tony Beets seems like the real deal. Seems like a hard working practical guy who tells it like it is, keeps everyone in line, and gets stuff done. My understanding is Tony came to the Klondike with nothing and runs a succesful mining operation with no bs. I believe he was brought into the show as a consultant to advise Todd Hoffman who didn't really understand Gold Mining and was less sucessful than Tony. Tony also seems like a good mentor in getting Parker set up in the mining world. My undertstanding is Tony was a dairy farmer in Holland and seems to run his mining operation with the work ethic and focus required to keep a dairy going.
If the Mcbee show is still running- I think it would at least be entertaining to watch Tony try to straighten the bunch out. Or if McBee farms goes out of business, the boys go up and work for Tony. Tony's probably smart enough to steer clear of that crew- Nonetheless would be interesting to hear Tony tell that bunch what to do and get a better result. | |
