Location and soils have alot to do with the early bean planting too, around here you try to plant the corn first so it can pollinate before the heat sets in in mid to late June,plus that's about the time we start missing the rains after getting monsooned on during April and May. I'll plant beans in the May to June time frame,they seem to stress better than corn in the heat/ drought conditions.
