Subject: RE: Florida shootings

North of London
Switzerland and US have similar numbers of gun ownership BUT There are big differences in who is allowed to get a gun and what they have to do to get that single gun.

First all males in Switzerland have to take military training which includes gun safety and use
Then they have to be approved to own a gun after and I understand they are limited to one gun other than bolt action hunting rifles.

Not a good comparison between the 2 countries and of course net result of gun deaths is also quite different

You might also find it interesting when looking at numbers that in Canada's far north where population is even more widely spaced gun deaths if highest but I think gun ownership is also highest because they do much more hunting.

Then you can check numbers in US where most gun deaths are family members or friends/acquaintances not strangers.
Why? probably because a gun is available
