Subject: Tub Grinders

I’ve got me an old Bearcat 4200 with the almighty tire drive tub. I am curious if anyone has a solution to getting the tub turning consistently rather than just letting the tire slip all day. It’s had beads welded on the drive ring in the past but that’s not working. Thinking of welding expanded metal to the drive ring in hopes of the tire getting some grip. Or if anyone has ever converted a tire drive to chain drive, how much does that take to do? I would think it would be fairly simple. There’s also a Rotogrind 1090 on a farm sale coming up. Should I even consider going that route? I’d love like a Haybuster H-1100 but don’t feel like spending the money on one just yet.
